Recycling Guide

Effective April 1, 2006, Massachusetts State Regulation 310 CMR 19.017 (see page 18, Waste Bans) prohibits the disposal, or transfer for disposal of the following materials:

  • Glass Containers
  • Metal Containers
  • Narrow-neck Plastic Containers
  • Recyclable Paper
  • Yard waste and leaves
  • Lead Acid Batteries
  • White Goods (applicances)
  • Cathode Ray Tubes (TV and Computer Monitors)
  • Asphalt Pavement, brick and / or concrete
  • Wood

The following materials are NOT Acceptable in any container:

  • Sheetrock and Wallboard
  • Fiberglass Insulation
  • Asphalt Shingles
  • Combustibles (gasoline, paint thinner, etc.)

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS MUST BE RECYCLED:

  • ASPHALT PAVEMENT, BRICK AND/OR CONCRETE
  • GLASS CONTAINERS
  • NARROW-NECK PLASTIC CONTAINERS
  • RECYCLABLE PAPER
  • YARD WASTE
  • LEAVES
  • LEAD ACID BATTERIES
  • WHITE GOODS
  • WHOLE TIRES
  • CATHODE RAY TUBES
  • WOOD

MA. STATE REG. 310 CMR 19.017 PROHIBITS THE TRANSFER FOR DISPOSAL OF THE ABOVE MATERIALS
