The annual Reuben Hoar Library Summer
Reading Programs are in full swing!
This summer is packed
with great books, exciting programs, and fabulous prizes. With a program
for every age group, the entire family can participate!
Registration is underway! Reading logs began on Monday, June 30 for Children and Teens. Adult Summer Reading requires no registration.

The goals for Summer Reading are simple - to have FUN and to READ!
To cultivate a love of reading and to promote a sense of community, the
Reuben Hoar Library is organizing its third Littleton Reads: One Book,
One Town community reading project.
Everyone in Littleton will be invited to read the same book at the same
time. The Library will create a series of programs and events based on
the theme of the chosen book, including a possible visit by the author!
Communities all over the country sponsor similar programs and find it to
be a way for people of all ages to come together to share thoughts,
friendship and a lively exchange of ideas.
We first need to choose that one important book that everyone will read.
What book would you choose for a Community Read?
Vote for your favorite book from a list of thoughtfully chosen
titles or suggest a different book. Keep in mind, the ideal book will be one with general appeal, and is
appropriate for teenagers and older.
Voting will be open throughout the summer and fall. On Election Day in
November, votes will be tallied and the top vote-getter will be the One
Book Littleton reads.
The 5th Annual Reuben Hoar Library Fund Drive is in full swing!
Help us to reach our goal by donating today!
In 2010, the Reuben Hoar Library Board of Trustees established the Reuben Hoar Library Fund. The
purpose of this fund is to help defray the cost of a new or
renovated/expanded library to Littleton taxpayers as well as to fund
current service and building improvements that may not be covered by the
annual town-appropriated operating budget.
Massachusetts Virtual Catalog
Can't find what you're looking for in the MVLC online catalog or the Virtual Catalog? Here's why...
The Virtual Catalog has been the place for finding library materials in Massachusetts libraries. But now, after more than 10 years, it is time for a new system. The Massachusetts state-wide interlibrary loan system, currently known as the Virtual Catalog, will be migrating to a new system and getting a new name, the Commonwealth Catalog.
Over the course of the coming months, all library networks will be migrating from the Virtual to the Commonwealth Catalog. This migration process will be done incrementally and include a gradual draw down of the items listed in the Virtual Catalog as networks are migrated, one-by-one to the new system.
When a network is removed from the Virtual Catalog their libraries will cease borrowing and lending and their items will cease to show in Virtual Catalog searches. Until this migration is complete, you may have to ask a librarian to assist you in finding the item for which you are searching.
We apologize for this inconvenience but a better searching experience is on the way as the go-live date for the new Commonweath Catalog approaches.
