Summer Reading 2017 is here!

Welcome to the summer reading page at the Reuben Hoar Library. Below, you'll find details about the annual summer reading programs we have available to participate in. All summer reading programs begin June 26th and end August 19th. We will continue to update this page in the week leading up to the launch of our 2017 summer program.

Please note: you may not sign up for multiple programs. Where the programs overlap for certain ages, anyone who qualifies for multiple programs is allowed to choose which program they use. Once chosen, however, they may not then join another program without forfeiting all progress in their previous program.

Also note that while we use standard school grades for ease of reference, those who are home schooled or who attend a school with non-standard grade structure (and even anyone who doesn't attend Littleton schools or live in Littleton!) are welcome to join. If you're not sure which program you should join, please talk to James, Jenna, Diann, or Helen.

Children's Summer Reading (Pre-K to 6th Grade)

The Rueben Hoar Library offers two ways to participate in the children's summer reading program. Kids may sign up in the children's room and receive a booklet which they can use to track their time spent reading, or they can sign up online by clicking here or using the following link and track their reading on the website:

Sign ups for the children's program begin June 19th.

Teen Summer Reading (6th Grade - 12th Grade)

In addition to the children's program, the Reuben Hoar Library offers a program for teens as well. Unlike the children's program, the teen program only has online sign ups. They still have to show up in-person to collect their prizes, though! Click here or follow the link below to sign up and track time spent reading:

Sign ups for the teen program begin June 19th.

Adult Summer Reading (Ages 18 and Over)

We haven't forgotten the adults! The Reuben Hoar Library offers a separate program for adults who wish to keep track of their reading during the summer months. During the summer, simply fill out a review sheet for any book you've read or listened to between June 26th and August 19th and you'll be entered to win a weekly raffle, as well as a grand prize raffle at the end of the summer.

There are no sign ups required for the adult summer reading program.

Littleton Public Schools Summer Reading Lists

Below you will find the summer reading lists in order by grade. Please remember that we host these lists as a courtesy to our patrons; we have no control over the content of the list and cannot answer questions related to summer reading assignments. Please direct any questions to the relevant school's office.
