The Planning Board was established in 1946 to review proposed Residential and Commercial Development in Littleton according to the State Subdivision Control Law, the State Zoning Act, and local Zoning Bylaws and Subdivision Regulations. The Planning Board is the issuing authority for Site Plan Review, and many of the Special Permits according to the Town Bylaws. 

Fall Special Town Meeting: Monday, October 30, 2017: 

The Planning Board is proposing a total of FOUR bylaw amendments for the October 30, 2017 Town Meeting. Three of the bylaws address Senior and Affordable Housing, and one is a temporary moratorium on recreational marijuana facilities. Details below - hope to see you at the Public Hearing!

Update: August  14, 2017 - our Conversation Moves Forward on Senior Housing and Affordable Housing In Littleton: 

Thank You!! So many residents joined us as the Conversation Moves Forward on Senior and Affordable Housing in Littleton on Tuesday, August 8 at 8:00 p.m. Your input was heard, and we're continuing with bringing this important issue to Town Meeting. Building on the conversations first outlined in Littleton's Housing Production Plan adopted in January 2015 (see, continuing with the November 21, 2016 Community Conversation, following recommendations from Littleton Master Plan 2030, considering feedback from the May 2017 Annual Town Meeting's narrow defeat of a Senior Residential Development Bylaw, and your comments, we are continuing to move this conversation forward! 

Judi Barrett, of Barrett Planning Group LLC updated the Senior Residential Development Bylaw; updated draft is linked below. The Planning Board, COA Housing Subcommittee, and Elder and Human Services Department will be bringing this important package of Bylaws to the Fall 2017 Special Town Meeting in support of senior and affordable housing:

November 2016: The Planning Board has contracted with consultant Judi Barrett for zoning assistance related to updating our zoning bylaws to support affordable housing, including housing options for seniors. The Planning Board hosted a "Community Conversation: Housing Choices for Senior Citizens and Their Families" on November 21, 2016. Judi Barrett's presentation at the Nov. 21 meeting is linked HERE. She then provided a "Framework for Senior Housing and Affordable Housing in Littleton" paper that the Planning Board will discuss at the January 5, 2017 meeting: 6:30 p.m. in Room 103 of Town Hall. Please feel free to attend and provide your input!
