February 7, 2017 Board of Selectmen Meeting Summary

1A. FY 2018 Operating Budget, Capital Improvements Plan budget priorities – prepare for joint meeting with Finance Committee, School Committee - The Board of Selectmen established priorities for its FY 2018 operating and capital budget recommendations as follows: Operating budget: to prioritize additional staffing for Elder & Human Services (F/T outreach coordinator, P/T van driver; and Highway (F/T laborer, increased admin hours); Capital budget as recommended by AAFB, as amended.  Board will continue to review other staffing requests.
- Next joint meeting of the Board of Selectmen, Finance Committee, and School Committee will be held on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 6:30 PM.

 1B. Fire Department Advanced Life Support Staffing – SAFER Grant Application - $899,133 over 3 years - The Board of Selectmen voted to authorize submission of a grant application to the Federal Emergency Management Administration for $899,133 for the Littleton Fire Department to hire six full-time Firefighter/ Paramedics for a period of three years under the Staffing for Adequate Fire Emergency Response (SAFER) program.

 2A. FY 2017 Snow & Ice Budget Expenditures - MGL C.44,§31D - The Board of Selectmen voted, pursuant to MGL C.44,§31D, to approve incurring expenses in excess of the available appropriation for snow and ice removal for Fiscal Year 2017.
