On Wednesday, June 18, 2008, the Economic Development Steering Committee and members of the Board of Selectmen met with a transition team from IBM | To summarize just a few highlights of proposed joint efforts between the Town and IBM discussed that evening . . .
Commuter rail / shuttle / parking - We'd like to discuss a shuttle system that links the commuter rail station with IBM and Littleton Common, with remote parking at IBM, perhaps. We're planning to explore the Suburban Mobility grant program as a means of funding the shuttle, which could serve both IBMers coming into Littleton and local residents commuting into the city.
Roadway / intersection improvements - The Town will resurrect a plan for mitigation that had been associated with development of the Cisco site, and see if we can pursue funding for a MORE grant.
Amenities - restaurants, hotels, etc. - we hear you, IBM, and those amenities are much in mind as we develop a vision and plan for the future of the Cisco property and Littleton Common.
Green initiatives - the TA will be the contact point for the Town of Littleton and would love to participate with IBM's green team to see what we can do together.
