 |
Below is an announcement from the TA issued on September 16, 2008. | State Legislation Signed Placing Police Station Debt Exclusion Ballot Question on November 4, 2008 State Election Ballot I am pleased to report that, earlier today, Chapter 332 of the Acts of 2008 was signed into law, placing on the November 4, 2008 state election ballot in Littleton a debt exclusion ballot question for construction of a new police station. The Board of Selectmen had voted on September 8, 2008 to request such legislation. The bill was filed by the Governor on Friday, September 12, 2008, and passed by the Massachusetts House of Representatives and State Senate yesterday, Monday, September 15, 2008. It was signed into law at 10:15 AM today, Tuesday, September 16, 2008 by Lt. Governor Tim Murray. State Senator Pam Resor told me yesterday that this is one for the record books, perhaps . . . a bill filed on a Friday is passed by both houses on Monday, and signed into law on Tuesday. Thanks very much. Keith A. Bergman, Town Administrator
