TA Blog: MSBA approves $7-M for Russell Street School repairs

Update from the TA issued on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 following the meeting of the Massachusetts School Building Authority.

MSBA Board of Directors approves $7,050,000 for Russell Street School repairs

I am pleased to report that, at its meeting in Boston on March 25, 2009, the Massachusetts School Building Authority board of directors unanimously voted to approve Littleton's project for repairs to the Russell Street School,   Read the letter from MSBA.

 District total project budget:

  $15,131,820

 Reimbursement rate: 

 47.84%

 Approximate total grant amount:

 $7,050,000

Currently, building abatement costs (including asbestos removal) are not eligible under MSBA reimbursement guidelines. However, MSBA board chairman Treasurer Tim Cahill and executive director Katherine Craven today indicated that MSBA would be revisiting this issue at a future meeting.
