Town Code ยง13-8 authorizes the Board of Selectmen to appoint a Committee of five (5), one (1) of whom shall be the Tree Warden, to be known as the "Public Shade Tree Committee," for the purpose of purchasing, planting and cultivating public shade trees in or near public ways.
