The purpose and powers of the Littleton Zoning Board of Appeals, as outlined in Article 173-6 of the Littleton Zoning Code are as follows: (1) to hear and decide applications for special permits; (2) to hear and decide appeals or petitions for variances; (3) to hear and decide other appeals; (4) to issue comprehensive permits; and (5) to issue withheld building permits.

The Board of Appeals meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7:15 p.m. in Room 103 of the Town Offices, 37 Shattuck Street, Littleton. Applications for hearings before the Board may be obtained from the Town Clerk. The application includes information on the filing procedure. Completed applications must be returned to the Town Clerk by the 3rd Thursday of the month preceding the meeting at which the Board will hear it. The legal notice for the newspaper and notification of abutters is handled by the Board.
