 SUMMER CAMPS 2010

Registration for Camp begins Monday, February 1st!

Camp Tahattawan -- Ages 5-12

Camp Tahattawan is a distinctive experience for boys and girls entering grades K-6. Campers enjoy the surroundings of numerous playing fields and wooded areas. It is conveniently located in Littleton, MA at the Shaker Lane School, within walking distance to Long Lake. The camp is staffed by a professionally trained group of men and women who are committed to challenging the minds and bodies of the campers, cultivating creativity, and providing a fun, and safe camp experience for your camper in a non-competitive setting. Counselor to camper ratio for the Deer, Foxes, and Bobcats are 1: 7, Hawks, Wolves and Tigers are 1: 10. We also have a counselor-in-training program for pre-reen and young adults ages 13 to 15.

 Required Forms (please pass in with registration):

  • Medication Administration Form --- This form authorizes the Camp Director to administrator medication to your camper. In addition, we REQUIRE this form, and your permission, to put suncreen and/or bug-spray on your camper. If they have no medication needed, please indicate 'suncreen and/or bug-spray only' on the form and SIGN it.
  • Dicipline Form--- This form must be signed by BOTH the parent and the camper. Please take the time to go over these rules with your child so they are aware of the behavioral expectations at camp.
  • Child Pick-Up Form -- ONLY persons who are indicated on this form will be allowed to pick up a camper from the site. For your safety and protection, you may not add individuals to this list over the phone. In addition, we cannot accept written notes allowing persons to pick-up your child from camp. All persons whom you believe may pick your camper up from the site should be listed on this form. You can add to it at any time, IN PERSON, at the camp site after it has been received.
  • Allergy Action Form -- ONLY fill this out if you child has an allergy. ONE form for EACH allergy is required.

Camp Tahattawan's  Counselor-In-Training Program -- Ages 13-15

Are you looking for a fun, exciting, and challenging program for your teens this summer……The Town of Littleton PRCE is now offering a “C.I.T.” (Counselor-In-Training) program. The “C.I.T.” program is an educational program, with a curriculum designed to develop the skills necessary to be an effective leader and superior camp counselor, once of age.

Required Forms (please pass in with registration):

  • Medication Administration Form -- This form authorizes the Camp Director to administer medication to your CIT. In addition, we REQUIRE this form, and your permission, to put suncreen on your C.I.T. If they have no medication needed, please indicate 'suncreen and/or bug-sprayonly' on the form and SIGN IT.
  • C.I.T. Discipline Policy -- This form must be signed by BOTH the parent and the Participant. Please take the time to go over these rules with your CIT so they are aware of the behavioral expectations at Camp.

Adventures at Prouty Woods -- Ages 12 - 15

Adventures at Prouty Woods is a one-of-a-kind experience for boys and girls entering grades 6-8. Participants enjoy the surroundings of Prouty Woods, a 107-acre property run by the New England Forestry Foundation (NEFF). Adventures at Prouty Woods is dedicated to assisting young people in developing a strong character, reponsibility, community and a sense of place in harmony with nature. Programs combine technical instruction with a healthy dose of outdoor fun.

Required Forms (please include with registration):

  • Medication Administration Form  - This form authorizes the Camp Director to administer medication to the camper. In addition, we REQUIRE this form, and your permission to put sunscreen on your camper. if they have no medication needed, please indiciate "sunscreen and/or bug spray" on the form and SIGN IT.  
  • Prouty Discipline Policy - This form must be signed by BOTH the parent and the PARTICIPANT. Please take the time to go over the rules with your child so they are aware of the behavioral expectations at Camp.
  • Prouty Pick-Up Form - ONLY persons who are indictaed on this form will be allowed to pick up your child from the site. For your safety and protection, you may not add individuals to this list over the phone. In addition, we cannot accept written notes allowing persons to pick up your child from Prouty. All persons whom you believe may pick up your child from the site should be listed on this form. You can add to it at any time, IN PERSON, at the camp site after it has been recieved.

Kid's Adventures Summer Enrichment Program -- Ages 4 - 14

Kids’ Adventures is a summer enrichment program for children ages 4-14 sponsored by Littleton Parks, Recreation & Community Education. Programs cover a variety of disciplines such as arts and crafts, science and nature, math, creative writing, computer exploration, music and dance.

Sessions for classes generally run from 9:00 a.m. – noon for one week (12 hours) , meeting Monday – Thursday, beginning on Monday, June 29 and ending on Thursday, August 9. Participants are welcome to sign up for one week or several, depending upon their schedules. Brochures will be available online on Monday, April 27, 2009.
