Listed below are the Summer 2012 sports and enrichment camps that have been scheduled to date. Additional activities will be listed in the Spring/Summer 2012 brochure in home March 26 and in the Kids’ Adventures brochure in home April 23.

June 25-29


Jr. Olympic Archery – Ages 8+
Students learn correct archery safety and technique and receive achievement awards as they progress. Included in tuition is use of all recurve bows, arrows, targets, quivers and protective equipment used during the class. Instructor: Archery USA Staff

Boys Tiger Basketball - For Boys Entering Grades 4 – 9

Spend an exciting week of drills, skills and thrills with Varsity Boys Coach Mike Lombard, as well as with high school varsity players who are ready to bring you their knowledge and enthusiasm for the game of basketball. Emphasis is placed on offensive and defensive skills and application of skills applied to a team concept. Players are grouped according to age and skill level. Participants receive individualized attention, quality instruction and supervision, a T-shirt, awards for everyone, lots of fun and more. Participants should bring a water bottle, snack and basketball. Please label all personal belongs. Open gym for registered participants from 8:30 -9:00 a.m.

Play, play, and play some more...the ultimate multi-sport program! Baseball, basketball, and soccer will be core sports in which some skills will be emphasized. But that's not all. Other sports mixed in include - flag football, floor hockey, volleyball, badminton, dodgeball, disc golf, ultimate frisbee, whiffle ball, and kick ball. Unique games such as shark attack and safari will also be played. Program is coed, and every participant receives a Thundercat ball, t-shirt, and certificate of achievement. Participants should bring a water bottle, snack, lunch and apply sunscreen before arriving.

Thunder Sports Kiddie Kat Jam - Ages 4 - 6
Thundercat Sports mini version of our popular Sports Jam! Soccer will be a core sport played every day in which basic skills will be emphasized. Other sports include t-ball, basketball, softee hockey, balloon ball, and kick ball. Games and other activities sprinkled in include – finding the Nemo, Sponge Bob tag, shark attack, thunder relays, Kiddie Cat Olympics, and more. Theme days, including Red Sox Day and Friday Fun Day, add to the excitement creating a non-competitive positive sports experience your child will enjoy. Emphasis will be on basic skills, developing hand eye coordination, teamwork, and FUN! Program is coed, and every participant receives a Thundercat ball and t-shirt. Participants should bring a water bottle, snack and apply sunscreen before arriving.

Club Invention – Entering Grs 1 - 6

The Club Invention program is a weeklong summer enrichment program that fosters creativity, teamwork, inventive-thinking skills, and science literacy for children entering grades one through six. Created in 1990 by the National Inventors Hall of Fame Foundation in partnership with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the program has grown to more than 900 sites in 47 states. Taught by local educators, the Innovate program consists of five modules listed below: This year’s new ENVISON program features: Inventeureka: Climb aboard a time machine to explore moments in invention history; Magnetropolis: design and create upcycle ships to target the last known location of the island known as Magnetropolis! Action and Adventure Games: Combine physical activity and creativity with high-energy challenges! I Can Invent: Balloon Burst: Advance your critical thinking skills!

Throw it, catch it, punt it...pigskins beware! Participants will learn fundamental skills from coaches through unique drills, games, and teaching techniques. Skills taught include passing, catching, running, offensive / defensive strategies, and more. Theme days, trivia, and a Super Bowl tournament at the end of the program add to the excitement! AtBats Baseball & Softball - Ages 8-12
AtBats Softball "All Skills" Camp - Ages 8-12

A great week for baseball & softball enthusiasts! Participants will be immersed in the mechanics of throwing, catching, fielding, hitting, and positioning with coaches who are trained to bring out your individual best! This clinic is open to boys and girls who are interested in improving their skills and having fun. Instruction is individualized, so all levels are welcome. Players are grouped according to preference for softball or baseball, age and skill level. The camp is run by the well-known “AtBats” from Boxborough, MA. Participants should bring a water bottle, snack, lunch and apply sunscreen before arriving. Rain make up will be 7/20. Instructor: AtBats Staff

Adam Nelson Basketball - Ages 8 and Up
Individual attention coupled with the opportunity to play in team situations make this a hit with players every year. Participants will focus on developing basic individual skills as well as learn drills that they can work on at home to improve their game. Each day will have a specific emphasis, .i.e. Monday – ball handling; Tuesday - shooting; Wednesday – defense, etc. Coach Adam Nelson is head coach at Suffolk University, and was a former Division 1 assistant coach at both Holy Cross and Northeastern University. Current college players and coaches assist Coach Nelson to make this a fantastic camp. Instructor: COACH ADAM NELSON AND STAFF

B.E.S.T Soccer Travel Team Soccer Training Clinic – Boys & Girls -- Ages 8 -14
Geared to the U8 – U14 travel player, participants will be tasked with improving motor control, balance, coordination and agility through a series of soccer specific activities. Players will learn the importance of soccer specific fitness. Coaches will develop player’s ability to make decisions, speed of reactions and anticipation through skills based drills and small-sided conditioned games. Coaches will also assess the needs of the individual and plan the sessions around these factors. Fee includes a BEST soccer shirt. Players should submit a current immunization and completed physical form for calendar year 2012 upon registration. Players should bring water, sweatshirt, light snack and should wear shin guards, cleats, bug spray and sun screen to every session. Rain make up will be on Friday, 7/27.

Boston Crabs Lacrosse Academy puts the focus on improving skills, offensive and defensive strategies, techniques and positional play. Pro coaches and players will lead participants in skill building activities within small groups to ensure every player is getting the time and repetitions needed to improves on the desired skill, contestant feedback by coach is provided to help the athletes Our goal is to increase each participant’s playing skills and knowledge of the game and provide opportunities to build confidence and have fun! Participants should bring their stick, helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves and cleats (bring indoor shoes in the event of inclement weather). Spend an exciting week learning offensive and defensive skills and training methods to help you prepare for the Fall 2012 field hockey season.
