LITTLETON – Town Administrator Anthony M. Ansaldi Jr. and the Town of Littleton wish to inform the public that work has begun to install new traffic signals on King Street (Routes 2A/110) in front of Littleton High School.

The project, expected to cost about $183,000, is designed to increase road safety and improve sight lines in the area of the Littleton High School driveway, which sees heavy traffic during the school year. Voters at a Special Town Meeting in October 2018 approved a Capital Article appropriating the spending.

Work will involve excavation, removing and resetting granite curb; reconstructing cement concrete sidewalks and wheelchair accessible ramps; and installing signage and pavement markings. Sidewalk and wheelchair ramp elements will be built to meet Americans with Disabilities Act and Massachusetts Architectural Access Board standards.

Work began on Monday, July 12. Drivers may encounter traffic delays in the construction area, with reduced lanes and possible alternating traffic.

The general contractor for the project is Dagle Electrical Construction Corp. Work is estimated to be completed by the end of August.
