Information on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The information regarding the COVID-19 (coronavirus) is evolving and you can expect guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) will be updated as these agencies receive new information.

In line with recommendations from the Commonwealth, the Board of Selectmen voted to close municipal buildings to the public March 13th through at least March 29th.  The Town has also canceled or postponed all non-essential senior programs, to protect seniors who are at a higher risk for COVID-19.   Playgrounds have also been closed and services at the Transfer Station have also been altered.

The Information below has been compiled to provide residents of Littleton with concise Information, resources, and guidance.

Call  Massachusetts 2-1-1: Mass 2-1-1 is the 24/7 statewide information and referral line available in 140+ languages that connects callers with critical social service programs and organizations in their local community. It can be reached by dialing 2-1-1 from any landline or cell phone in the state.

Littleton Town Hall Closure:  Town Hall including the Littleton Elder and Human Services and Park, Recreation and Community Education are closed to the public.  Municipal Departments continue to be staffed and the public is encouraged to call 978-540-2400 for a department directory to reach department staff or to email departments directly.  Click HERE for a list of departments and phone numbers.

Elder and Human Services: While EHS Programs have been temporarily canceled or rescheduled to a later date, EHS Staff continue to perform outreach and referral services.  Please call the COA at 978-540-2470 or visit the EHS Website for more information.  A Community Resources guide has been prepared by EHS outlining local resources for services such as emergency care, nutrition programs, housing, and general services.  Click HERE for the Littleton Community Resource Guide.  Should you or your neighbors need assistance or want EHS Staff to check in with someone, please call.

Payments:  Payments for Real Estate, Personal Property, Excise Bills, vital records, parking tickets, the Littleton Public Schools and donations to TREAD can be processed online.  Visit www.littletonma.org/tax-collector/pages/online-payments-0Payment can also be dropped into the mail slot at Town Hall.

Permitting and Inspections: Building Permits and Inspections can be processed through Viewpoint Cloud.  Visit the Building Department's Viewpoint Permitting page at www.littletonma.org/building-department/pages/all-online-permit-applicationsThe  Building Department is conducting inspection in person and virtually, call the department at 978-540-2420.

Public Meetings:   The Board of Selectmen voted to postpone all board and committee meetings with the exception of the Board of Selectmen and Board of Health.  Boards were asked to postpone meetings as appropriate and consistent with Mass General Laws.  Staff is evaluating and testing methods of holding meetings virtually in order to continue with the Town's business and to process applications to various regulatory boards.  More information will be coming soon providing guidance to Board and Committees and the general public.  Public meetings can also be viewed by visiting the LCTV Web Page at www.littletonma.org/littleton-community-television and clicking "Streaming Live."

Littleton Parks, Recreation, and Community Education (PRCE):  The Department is physically closed to the public, but we are still working away virtually. We have cancelled all Spring I programs but are still moving forward with Spring II programs that start around May 4th, 2020. We are also still moving forward with all of our Summer programs like Camp Tahattawan, Sailing Camp, Summer LEAP (formally Kid’s Adventures) that are still open for registrations. The playgrounds and the Basketball courts at 300 King Street are closed at this time, but we do encourage you to get out side and talk a walk we just ask that you practice social distancing for your benefit and the benefit of others.

Reuben Hoar Library: The Library is closed to the public until at least March 30th.  Curb side pick-up is no longer available. Visit the Library's website or call the Library at 978-540-2600 for more information about streaming and online resources at www.littletonma.org/reuben-hoar-library.

Transfer Station: The transfer station will only be accepting recyclables and municipal solid waste. The Transfer Station will not be accepting any items that involve monetary transactions, no sticker sales, and no swap shop.  Leaves/ brush/ logs will not be accepted at this time. The transfer station hours will be: Saturday 8:00 a.m.to 5:00 a.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. If you have questions or need further information please call 978-540-2670 or visit www.littletonma.org/transfer-station.

Police and Fire: Our First Responders will continue to work to ensure the safety of the community.  The Fire Station and Police Stations are closed to the public.  The departments request that you attempt to use our phone or email contact if you have department business or questions.  Fire can be reached at (978) 540-2302 and Police can be reached at 978-540-2300.

Littleton - Westford Commuter Shuttle:  The commuter shuttle operator, MART, has suspended service until further notice starting on March 18th.  Visit MART's website www.mrta.us/covid19-information for more information
