Tax Relief for Elders and the Disabled (TREAD)

The Taxation Aid Committee is comprised of three resident members, for staggered three-year terms; to serve with the Chairman of the Assessors and Town Treasurer to administer the aid to the elderly and disabled taxation fund established by Article 9 of the November 2, 2015 Special Town Meeting Article 9, which accepted the provisions of MGL Chapter 60,§3D for the purpose of defraying the real estate taxes of elderly and disabled persons of low income.

To Donate to the Program

Send a check payable to the Town of Littleton, “TREAD Program”  to:

or donate online at the link below and select "Make donations to the Tax Relief for Elders and Disabled (TREAD) fund"

Either way, you will receive a receipt for your Tax- Deductible contribution.

To Apply for the Program

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must own and occupy the property
  • Must be 65+ or have a state recognized disability
  • Must file an application disclosing exemptions and household income and expenses for all household members age 18+
