Transportation in Littleton

MBTA Groundbreaking Ceremony
MBTA Groundbreaking Ceremony - October 24, 2011

Littleton is conveniently located at the intersection of I-495 and Rt 2.  This provides those living and working in Littleton easy access to Boston, Worcester and Nashua New Hampshire.  In addition, a recently reconstructed Littleton MBTA commuter rail station, part of the Fitchburg Line which runs from Fitchburg to Porter Square in Cambridge and North Station in Boston, saw the installation fo dual tracks on the entire length of the rail line to Littleton and the addition of two hundred parking spaces.  An enhanced train schedule was implemented by the MBTA as a result of these improvements.  This provides greater support to both local and regional employers like IBM, many of whose employees live in the Boston and Cambridge areas and do a "reverse commute" to Littleton and the region each day.
