Dog Licenses

The Town Clerk's Office issues dog licenses to people who own or keep a dog in the Town of Littleton.

• Town Bylaw requires that all dogs over 6 months old must be licensed.
• Licenses are issued annually and are valid for the calendar year.
• In order to obtain an annual license, an owner must provide a valid anti-rabies vaccination certificate
• Dogs must be licensed prior to April 1st every year.
• Dogs licensed after April 1st are subject to an additional cost (see below)
• New dogs to your household evidenced by birth/adoption record are not subject to additional cost after April 1st
• The owner or keeper of any dog found unlicensed in the Town may be fined $25 per offense.

To License Your Dog

• Step 1: Provide a copy of the current Rabies Vaccination Certificate for each dog. 
• Once evidence of spay/neuter is on file, it is not required to show again.
• STEP 2: Make your Payment by:
  • Pay online via ACH or Credit Card
  • Mail a Check and a self-addressed stamped envelope to:

  • Visit the Clerk's Office (2nd Floor Room 207). Payments can be made by Cash, Check, or Credit/Debit Cards
  • Use our 24/7 Drop Box located outside our main door

All Card Payments are subject to a processing fee (Fee amount will be disclosed to you before processing. Fee varies per type of card - usually between $2.50 and $4)
