In the fall of 2016 ground broke on the new fire station project. This project includes a full renovation and expansion of the existing building to more adequately house all department personnel and apparatus. The project was completed in the beginning of 2018.
Prior to the station renovation, the department was housed in a building that has been used for several purposes throughout its years including the police station and even the Town Hall at one point in time. The Fire Department Utilized the main building and an additional garage out back to protect the apparatus from the elements. The new station will have enough room to safely garage all apparatus as well as provide protection for the numerous department trailers including HazMat and MRC as well as the rescue boat.
