What is the Littleton Medical Reserve Corps?
Littleton has formed its own Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) to help in the event of an emergency for the town, whether natural or manmade.
Littleton has a group of volunteers called the Littleton Volunteer Corps that include a MRC, Medical Reserve Corps. The Corps functions are to promote public health and public safety in an event that would threaten a community; promote healthy living through timely education and public service; and to respond to local emergencies. Members held flu clinics during the 2009-2010 H1N1 epidemic, staffed many shelters during ice storms, snow storms, Hurricane Irene, and cooling centers. We participate in many health education venues throughout the year. Our Corps trainings are quarterly for the volunteers and are combined with information sessions on Corps activities. Volunteers from all walks of life who can share their time and talents to help our town are needed.
