The Littleton Fire Department has a cargo trailer filled with 500 pounds of absorbent, hazardous materials suits, absorbent pads and booms, and a wide array of other materials and tools to mitigate minor hazardous materials incidents. Purchased in 1997 using funds collected from previous hazardous materials clean-up operations, the 12 foot cargo trailer is lighted inside and can be brought to a scene by various vehicles including Car 11 and Car 12. For larger or more complex hazardous materials incidents, the LFD calls upon neighboring departments with similar trailers or the District 6 Hazardous Materials team.
