Overview
The Federal Emergency Management Agency encourages all Towns and Municipalities to create and adopt a Hazard Mitigation Plan to identify local risks and vulnerabilities in order to develop long-term strategies for protecting residents and property from such hazards.
The Littleton Hazard Mitigation Team, working with the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) has created, the Town has Adopted, and FEMA has provided final approval for the Town of Littleton Hazard Mitigation Plan 2025 Update. This new plan considers many strategies for Littleton to mitigate local environmental hazards. The new plan will also open the opportunity for Littleton to receive federal funding to address local risks and vulnerabilities.

Littleton Select Board voted to adopt the Hazard Mitigation Plan at their June 23, 2025 Meeting; FEMA issued the formal Approval Letter on July 21, 2025.
