On February 24, 2020 the Select Board voted to approve a Host Community Agreement with Community Care Collective, Inc. relative to 531 King Street Ayer, for a retail adult use marijuana establishment. The HCA is subject to approval by the Cannabis Control Commission and operation of the facility is contingent upon the issuance of any necessary Town permits and approvals. The HCA provides for annual mitigation payments (for 5 years) of a community impact fee equal to 3% of gross sales, (whether wholesale or retail) including sales of marijuana, marijuana infused products, paraphernalia, and any other products sold by the facility.
In addition to the terms of the HCA, on March 9, 2020 the Select Board voted to approve a Development Agreement to pay the Town an annual Development fee in an amount equal to 1% of gross sales at the Facility or $100,000 (whichever is greater, with a maximum payment of $200,000).
