On October 17, 2016, the Board of Selectmen held a public hearing and voted to approve one Host Community Agreement for a proposed medical marijuana cultivation site located within the Town's Registered Marijuana Dispensary [RMD] Overlay District, as follows: Sanctuary Medicinals, Inc. for 234 Taylor Street (R09-34-0).
The Host Community Agreement provides that the Company is to pay the Town $50,000 in first and second year of operations; $75,000 in third and fourth years; $100,000 in fifth and succeeding years. The Company is also to contribute annually no less than $5,000 to public local charities in the Town. Charities to be chosen by Company in its reasonable discretion. If the Company begins to cultivate marijuana for purposes beyond those specifically allowed by DPH as of the date of this Agreement, Company will pay an additional $10,000 per year to the Town in two installments at six-month intervals.
A side letter the Host Community Agreement was signed on June 27, 2018 pertaining to the $10,000 annual payment for the cultivation of adult use marijuana at this facility.
